Neil's Horse Power
The story so far.

I’ll admit it, i’ve got a bit fat.

I know exactly when it started too. It was 12 Years, 9 Months and 25 Days ago. I only know this because it was my 12th Birthday. Oasis we’re huge, John Major was still knockin’ about as PM and I was stood in my school field scowling at a football. It was P.E and I was Pee’d off. In fact every P.E lesson was like this. I would avoid them all. I was cementing my dislike for runnin’ about and getting active.

From then on, my approach to any sort of extended movement came with grumbled dislike and creative avertion. To put it another way. I was a lazy bastard. Getting on a few years, it still hasn’t changed. Apart from finding a few sports i enjoyed I never took to it.

I also discovered two things. Beer and sitting down. Put the two together and we can fast-track to August 2008. My career path so far has been centred around video post production. That’s what i’m good at, so i stuck to it. But really it could be the single most inactive job in the world. A click here, a smashed head on table there. That’s it.

So zip back to a year ago to this very day. I felt like crap:

  • Very Moody
  • Chest Pains
  • Trouble Sleeping
  • Sleep Apnia (I would stop breathing in my sleep every single night)
  • Low Energy

and a list of other not so sexy by-products of one thing. Being fat and unhealthy.

So enough about me, lets talk about my belly. I’m still overweight. But i’ve decided to change things.

I will lose weight, be more active, and live a healthier life.

This blog will be my way of documenting some thoughts, failures and epiphany along the way. Feel free to leave comments or e-mail me with thoughts or suggestions. Or take away any tips i’ve found. Either way, I hope this whole thing is a good enough declaration of me wanting to change my ways.

Bring it on!
