I started this project at a moderately hefty 16 Stone.
I’ve not ate any less, i’ve just ate a lot less rubbish and lot more good stuff.
4 weeks later I weigh. 14st 9
This is not a crash diet. If i weighed 13 stone today that would NOT be an achievement. It would be a silly amount to lose and evidence that I’m not eating enough good stuff. I’m not obsessed with weight loss. I just like the idea that the system works. Not once have I felt hungry. This is just eating slightly healthier and moving a bit more. Jeez, those adverts. They’re right. I lost over a stone and i feel ace.
Weight Loss Rules I’ve lived by so far:
Pick yer’ portions - Weigh food, stick to portions. For example, a reasonable, healthy portion of cereal is about 50g. I was eating upwards of 100g every day. Now even that much of special friggin’ K is not good for you.
Ya’wanna’whiskey? - (Ok 10 points who can tell me what film that is from) So yeah, Whiskey. Drink it. I mean don’t drink whiskey all the time because if that happens I think that calls for another blog all about how I weened myself off alcoholism. But if you’re going to have a drink, stick to spirits. Now i’ve not been 100% on this because i’m a self confessed beer monster. But whiskey and diet coke is almost, ALMOST good for you. Compared to calories thrown out by a pint of carling you’re certainly onto a winner.
Bread - If you’re anything like me you’re a bread fiend. Bread with everything. Bread with beer. Bread with opening doors and answering the phone. So yeah, if you’re not going to cut down on the bread-fest. Then at least eat the good stuff. I don’t understand fat content and calorie stuff. But i DO know that Kingsmill 50/50 is MUCH better for you than that beautiful awesome Toastie stuff. So eat it. now. GO ON.
Don’t lose that loving feeling - Food is lovely. Don’t resent it. People who enter crash diets soon see food as the enemy. It’s not, it’s on your side so make the most of it. Never let yourself become hungry. Don’t ever lose that love for chompin’. Enjoy every bit of food and get excited about it, not distant from it. Don’t diet, Eat. Eat well and eat lots.
