I finished!
Just a quick update this time. I’m going to write a lot more about yesterday as there was just way too much to say in this very quick n’ dirty update. I got back from Newcastle at 11pm last night after a 9 HOUR JOURNEY from the North East. Then at my desk for 6:30am today. Why? Because i’m a bloody idiot that’s why.
Anyway. I’ll save the details, the picture above is me and colin waiting for the metro about an hour after finishing the race. I finished in 2hr33 and i’m not too fussed about how slow that was because the race was just so enjoyable i forgot about the time.
I came 28,614th out of 54,000. Colin came 8,305th (now that’s impressive)
Verdict? The Great North Run was easily easily one of the best things i’ve ever done. I can’t begin to describe how wonderful the event was from start to finish and I’m going to write a little more later. Forget muscle aches, it’s goosebumps you’ve got to worry about. Every corner on the route there were just these atmosphere that really takes over feeling tired or out of breath. All these amazing people doing amazing things for amazing reasons. If you ever choose run in any race make it this one.
Oh and I totally gave Sting a proper man nod at the start. He loved it.
